If you're anything like me then there will have been a period in your life when you saw being a leader as a distant, future goal.
Maybe that's where you are now - seeking opportunities to eventually become a leader through a job title, official role, or position of power.
You might still be a student, a fresh graduate, a seasoned professional, or even a business owner, and still be questioning the authority of your own leadership.
The feelings of uncertainty you have internally are stifling your impact externally as you deal with that inner voice of "I'm not good enough...yet".
Everyone deserves to lead with confidence and purpose, but not everyone knows how to get there.
Born in Germany to parents from Hong Kong and living in England since I was a kid, I know what it's like to have a crisis of identity. How do I define who I am and where I belong?
Fast forward to the present day and I've had all sorts of job titles to my name including; Bartender, Recruitment Consultant, Team Leader, Business Analyst, Strategy Manager, Client Success Director, Chief Operations Officer, Growth Consultant, Business Coach, Elder, Non-Executive Director, Founder, and unemployed!
Throughout my career and life in general there have been many times when I questioned my own leadership ability and authority, "Who am I to lead others?", "Do I really have what it takes?", "Why should others listen to me?"
My personal experience combined with interacting with hundreds of other aspiring leaders, and with what I believe was a download from God, had led to the birth of The Instant Leader.
Leadership is about more than just a job title or what you own. It's about knowing how to separate your identity and true worth from the world's standard of measurement.
The world becomes a better place when people like yourself grow in your leadership. And when you gain confidence in your ability to lead and equip yourself with the skills to lead from wherever you are.
I'm thankful to be on this journey with you.
And when I'm not working, I love (and kinda hate at the same time) setting bucket-list-style physical challenges. I've completed the National Three Peaks Challenge where you climb the highest mountains of England, Scotland, and Wales in 24 hours, and also rode from Manchester to Blackpool on a bike for charity. I'm currently training for my first 55km trail run in the Lake District in late 2024.
I'm a husband to Lisa and a father to our 3-year-old boy, Jaxon. Together we enjoy exploring new places, eating yummy food, and chasing pigeons.
Finally, I'll leave you with my life verse found in Colossians 3:23-24 (ESV), as my faith is the bedrock of everything I do.
"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ."
